Aquatic animals are those animals that live in water. Those that live in ponds, lakes, and rivers are (a) freshwater animals. The animals that live in the ocean are called (b) marine animals. Some aquatic animals breathe oxygen from the water through gills, while others go to the surface to breathe air through lungs (Mrunal, 2018).
